007: places i want to go!!

 hot girls dream of more than they have. hot girls are globe trotters. 
i have left the country once and it was to jersey from the uk... so yeah, i've done a LOT of dreaming.

my mind tends to run away with itself when i am stuck in reality, writing essays for example or going to a lecture, but i am never displeased with what my mind comes up with. in late-december early-janurary i was writing essays and taking moments away to procrastinate and dream of where i could be if i had just dropped out and got a cool job, like being a travel writer/ food critic/ part-time proofreader part-time model-photographer-poet-artist-muse kind of thing. my mind danced over geiranger, oslo, london, dénia, and so on, completely ignoring the plane ticket prices... yeah... this is no way an exhaustive list of the places i want to visit in my whole life as i want to cover the whole world, but it does limit me to places i can go to this year and next year. also i won't need a time machine to visit these places which is good, though part of me really does want to visit new york in the 1970's.

1. long weekend in oslo (summer)

not only do i have a norweigian lover who i can ask very nicely to (or bat my eyeashes at) show me around the place he knows well, but i also have google earth and the confidence and wayfinding skills of a londoner. i did imagine that i would bring my bestie with me, or go by myself. either way, i learnt some norweigian to get around comfortably. as i was researching where to go, i came up with a long list of restaurants i want to go to and not many places in comparison. god bless a girl that has priorities...

  checklist:

  - sunbathe at s∅renga

  - get p∅lsa from the sausage factory

  - morning sauna floating on the sea

  - visit the streetfood markets

  - buy wuthering heights in norweigian

  - visit the botanical garden

  - cocktails at mama pizza

  - practice my norsk at godt brod

  - go to the opera

  - be pretentious at a perfume shop

  - act like a completely different person

2. ålesund trip (summer / autumn)

this may be my dream trip (probably because i planned it) but the trip encompasses one almost full day aquarium visit, one three hour fjord cuise through three fjords stopping in geiranger, then a few hours of food and walkies around geiranger to the waterfalls and about the village, then when back in ålesund, a hike to the highest point to see the lights turn on at night. a full panoramic view. then ive scheduled in some fucking about too as i think it's neccesary.

  - fjellstua hike (coffee and yap at the summit)

  - fjord cruise to geirangerfjorden

  - get passionfruit chocholates at the sjokolade shop!!

  - take the waterfall walk

  - befriend the otters at atlantic seapark aquarium

  - take loads of pictures

  - buy a little souvenir to take home

  - visit the art nouveau sector

  - see/ stay in the lighthouse

  - fuck about

3. dénia (summer / autumn)

i can confirm and am happy to say that this is booked for july. i get to spend two weeks with my bestie in a country by ourselves (pretty much). i am so excited to get to take pictures and swim and eat and explore and just have some bestie time, though i do have some adventures i'd like to go on by myself but also i think doing a cave walk by myself is dangerous and stupid. i did hear that there was a japanese buffet that i don't think i'll be able to resist...

  checklist:

  - visit valencias largest aquarium

  - try their sqid/monk fish

  - get marmalade for my dad after trying their oranges

  - keep a travel diary

  - get a post card just to not send it

  - visit a night market for the ceramics

  - hang out with my bestie

  - see the water caves

  - visit the sex shop and pretend i'm a magician

  - go to the dentist

  - try some over the counter pharmacuticals

4. london (summer)

  checklist:

  - get an i ♡ london tshirt

  - visit harrods for a vanilla and pinapple water (get two)

  - get some snacks at selfridges

  - pretend i'm a rich patron in harrods

  - walk through a park (if you can find one in london)

  - brace oneself for the tube

  - pizza at franco manca

  - buy an exotic fruit to snack on in public

  - get a teapot in muji

  - try on loads of perfume then resolve to not buying anything

  - huff at a slow walker

5. brighton (summer / autumn)

  checklist:
